Where is “ALZO DI PELLA Splendid apartment with a view of Lake Orta and San Giulio Island” ?
Pella is a small village overlooking the shores of Lake Orta. After Orta San Giulio, it is the most characteristic town in the Cusio area, offering a beautiful view of the northwestern side of the Island.
Pella has ancient origins. It was already inhabited during Roman times, as evidenced by the discovery of a burial ground containing cinerary urns and coins dating back to the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. During the Middle Ages, the village was fortified. Later, it became part of the Principality of the Riviera, a territory under episcopal rule until 1767, when it was annexed to the House of Savoy.
Of its ancient defensive system, only a single tower remains today — privately owned and located along the lakeside near Piazza Motta.
The village is connected to the public lake navigation service, allowing easy access to all the towns around the lake by boat.
Several trails start from Pella, offering opportunities to explore the surrounding nature while always keeping the lake as a stunning backdrop.
