We are proposing accommodation in the main villa, which was the residence of the Bishop of Novara and was divided into six units in 1982.

This is a flat on the second floor, bright and with a unique view of the island of San Giulio, the Gulf of Ortello and the Sacro Monte of Orta!

The flat is accessed by an entrance with a stone staircase with wrought iron railings, tangible traces of the villa’s historicity.

Crossing the doorstep, we find ourselves directly in the kitchen, where two arched windows frame the verdant nature of the park. Opening the windows, the soothing roar of the waters of the San Rocco river, which flows through the entire property and into the lake, provides the relaxing backdrop.

We then enter the living room and from its balcony we can observe the wonderful sunsets over the lake, where the island will be the undisputed centrepiece. In the centre of the wall we find a large fireplace that can warm you up on colder days.

The bedroom enjoys the same wonderful view as the living area and has a balcony with lake and island view. The windowed bathroom is small, but well organised.

A small, partly spiral staircase leads to the attic, which consists of a single mansard room. Small windows, like slits in an old castle, frame glimpses of the lake.

The parking space is uncovered and inside the property.

The park has many internal paths that extend as far as the pedestrian gate near the railway station in the village of Legro. Here the Bishop of Novara had his personal train stop when he decided to spend time at his summer residence. From there, it is a safe walk to the historic centre of Orta via Via Prisciola.

The park is home to centuries-old trees typical of the local vegetation, as well as two lush cedars of Lebanon.

The castle, symbol of the independence from the coast of San Giulio, it rises on a strong position, that allows it to dominate the entire southern area of the lake.
