The villa that we are presenting you today is located in Alpino, a neighborhood of Stresa.
A residential area that is characterized by villas of all sizes which has developed itself on the sides of the Mottarone mountain. This is why you can see Lake Maggiore so well that it gives you the impression of being able to touch it.

In the second half of the nineteenth century, the activation of a lead and zinc mine, the residence of the most renowned Lombard painters, and the construction of villas in the Alpine locality brought back to life the rural village characterized by a strong emigration.
The first news we have of Gignese (originally Zinexium) dates back to 1269. Patron saint of the village is San Maurizio, owner of the parish church (feast on the first Sunday of January). San Desiderio is also venerated in 1665 for the arrival of relics from Rome.
